Cerknica Lake
Among the natural wonders to be experienced repeatedly in the Green Karst, Lake Cerknica is of particular importance. In the dry part of the year, you can see meadows and fields, which turn into the largest lake in Slovenia in spring and autumn. You can paddle and fish, mow the grass or walk in the same place.

Pivka Disappearing Lakes
In the Pivka Valley, water creates 17 lakes, which disappear again after a few weeks or months. The largest is Lake Palčje, and the most durable is Lake Petelinje, where water lasts up to 9 months. Lakes are habitats for many rare plants, amphibians and birds.

Planina Field
Planina Field is one of the most beautiful karst fields in Slovenia. During high water, it is overflowed by the Unica River and other tributaries. In a few days it turns into a large lake, and when the water recedes, it's meadows and fields again.
