Snežnik Castle, the romantic white castle
Snežnik Castle is one of Slovenia's most beautiful cultural gems and one of only two castles with preserved authentic interior. You can see the richly furnished lounges, dining rooms, bedrooms, the castle library, the theatre room and even the Egyptian Room, a great feature of the mansion.

The history of the castle, first mentioned in 1269, dates back to the time of the Patriarchate of Aquileia. Over the centuries, the castle has changed owners and guises. A touch of 16th-century Renaissance was complemented in the 19th century by the princely family of Schönburg-Waldenburg, who converted the castle into a romantic hunting lodge.
