Rakov Škocjan Regional Park
A valley of natural bridges, green forests, karst features and the Rak river invites you to visit. Its banks are home to underground snails, including endemic species found nowhere else in the world. Dragonflies whirl over the water in the daytime, and bats fly over the valley at dusk.
The 2.5-kilometre-long valley was once a cave. When it collapsed, the Little Natural Bridge with a 42-metre-high arch andthe Big Natural Bridge with a 37-metre-high arch were formed. Two giants, together with the other natural features of Rakov Škocjan, are the best invitation to visit the valley in all seasons.
A learning trail with information about the area's special features runs through the valley.
