Lipica Stud Farm
Just a stone's throw from the Green Karst, a world where people and Lipizzaner horses – one of the oldest cultural breeds of horse in the world – have been making history for more than 500 years. Lipica is home to more than 300 white horses, which captivate visitors with their elegance and grace.
Lipica is a cultural and natural monument of world importance and a perfect complement to a visit to the Green Karst. A visit to the Lipica Stud Farm offers the chance to see Lipizzaner horses in the oldest stable – Velbanca, learn about their history in the Lipikium Museum and enjoy a show performed by the famous Lipica School of Classical Riding. Carriage rides or horse riding through the rugged karst landscape are a special experience, and the estate also offers many opportunities for rest and relaxation.
In cooperation with the Park of Military History in Pivka and the Škocjan Caves Park, the Trio of Karst Attractions offers a joint ticket that brings together three unique stories – the tradition of the Lipizzaners, the military history of the 20th century and the secrets of the Karst underground.
