Trails of the first cave explorers – Following the footsteps of Luka Čeč
This Slovenia Unique Experience turns you into a speleologist and explorer of karst caves – and that in times when the discovery of the underground has only just begun! Follow the footsteps of Luka Čeč, one of the pioneers of speleology, who in 1818, while preparing for a visit by Francis I, the Emperor of Austria, discovered previously unknown parts of Postojna Cave.
On an adrenaline tour, wearing boots and equipped with a rope, a helmet and a head torch, you explore the hidden tunnels of Pivka and the Black Cave – the last underground stations of the Pivka River. Accompanied by experienced speleologists and biologists, you will be guided into the mysteries of the underground world and to the dwellings of the baby dragons – the olm.
You try outrappelling, climbing across the river, lake crossing and solving fun cave puzzles. After passing the 7.7km long cave system, you are treated with some culinary delights.
