Tracking Wildlife with a Hunter

What can the forest tell us if we know how to look? On this guided adventure, children join a local hunter on forest trails, searching for animal tracks and discovering the hidden lives of forest animals through observation and hands-on activities.

The programme begins with an introduction to the rules of conduct in the forest, followed by a short forest hike with commentary on nature and hunting. Using an identification guide, children learn to recognise animal footprints and other signs of wildlife, discover the biology of hoofed animals, and find the antlers of roe deer and red deer of different ages.
The experience also includes a demonstration of a camera trap, showing how it can be used to monitor animals in their natural habitat. Designed especially for primary school pupils, the programme is adapted to the age and previous knowledge of each group. Through observation, exploration and teamwork, children develop respect for the forest, its wildlife and the natural environment.
