Lake Mola is a reservoir created in 1979 with the building of a dam on the Molja Stream in the Brkini Hills in order to regulate the water levels of the Reka River. This resulted in the flooding of a few houses, including a mill, the ruins of which can still be seen poking out of the water. The circumference of the lake is more than 10 km and is a great choice for people who enjoy being surrounded by peaceful nature. Sport fishing is very popular here and fishermen enjoy fishing for chub, carp, zander, catfish and pike. There is a fishing lodge by the lake that offers a place for socialising, a bocce track, and serves local homemade dishes.
