Intended for those seeking a more advanced experience, this workshop at Kruška Blacksmithing offers two- or three-day workshops to make your own Damascus steel knife. You’ll learn how to create your own distinctive Damascus pattern before transforming it into a finished knife.
The workshop begins with preparing and forging the layered Damascus steel from which the blade is made. You will then shape the knife, harden and temper the blade, grind it and sharpen it. Participants choosing the three-day workshop also create an ornamental handle, adding a unique finishing touch to their handcrafted knife.
A Damascus steel knife is the result of days spent working with fire, steel, intricate patterns and meticulous craftsmanship. This workshop combines technical skill, creativity and respect for traditional blacksmithing.
