A Family Day at Slavec Farm
Treat your family to a farm experience where you can milk goats, feed the hens, stroke the cows and groom a donkey. Tasting homemade delicacies is also part of the authentic daily life on an organic farm with traditional and native breeds of animals.
At Slavec Farm, which is also an ARK Centre dedicated to preserving indigenous livestock breeds, you’ll meet Slovenian Alpine and Drežnica goats, Bovec sheep and Cika cattle. You can even take a walk in the company of the farm’s donkeys. In the apiary, Carniolan honey bees are busy at work, while Styrian hens lay fresh eggs. You’ll learn about daily life on the farm, caring for animals and the importance of sustainable farming.
The experience concludes with a homemade meat or vegetarian snack. By prior arrangement, you can also enjoy ice cream made from organic goat’s milk or sample delicious honey-based treats. You can arrive by bicycle – the Slavec Farm is a cyclist-friendly stop and also offers five e-bikes for hire.
